So i had the same problem, i tried a lot of things and all was supposedly ‘working’ but i had the same ‘no audio output devices installed’ and ‘audio services not responding’ problem showing and the red x on the speaker icon.. Regarding the "the audio service is not running" issue, please first try start the windows audio service by the steps below: i has a "audio service not working issue" and this fixed it! thanks and kudos! saturday, november 29, 2014 7:17 am i'm running on windows 8 asus laptop. today i encounter the audio services is not.
